Welcome to the pages of the FKI
The Research and Continuing Education Centre for Culture and Informatics (FKI) on the Wilhelminenhof campus of HTW Berlin brings together three interdisciplinary research groups under one roof. In exchange with a global network of top-class partners from research and industry, specialists in innovative technologies such as virtual, mixed and augmented reality, human-computer interaction, gaming and artificial intelligence work successfully together with experts from cultural studies, art and creative industries, but also urban planning and medicine.
The FKI serves the exchange and transfer of knowledge, the joint development of new projects, practical tests in laboratories equipped for this purpose as well as public presentations, discussions and events in the spacious premises directly on the Spree.

CENTIS
Die Forschungsgruppe CENTIS (Human-Centered Immersive System) ist Teil des Forschungs- und Weiterbildungszentrum Kultur und Informatik (FKI) der HTW Berlin. Im Mittelpunkt der Forschung stehen die Anforderungen und Bedürfnisse von Nutzenden sowie die Entwicklung innovativer 3D-Technologien. Zum Einsatz kommen Virtual-, Augmented-, Mixed- und Extended-Reality (VR, AR, MR, XR) sowie Tangible User Interfaces (TUI).
ITH - Immersive Technology Hub
Der Immersive Technologies Hub (ITH) ist eine fachbereichsübergreifende Initiative der HTW Berlin. Er vernetzt Akteur*innen aus verschiedenen Studiengängen, Forschungsprojekten und dem Lehrenden Service Center, um immersive Technologien in Forschung, Lehre und Studium voranzutreiben.
